An exciting observation of a self sustaining civilization. Soustelle writes in a way that inspires imagining being a part of the Aztec culture. This book not only provides insight into many aspects of Aztec life, but describes how all the aspects connect to one another, from before the beginning, to Spanish destruction. The dualist culture, that came about from nomads assimilating with settled inhabitants, opened my eyes to the wonder of the Aztecs.
