A confusing mish-mash where it is not clear whether what we are reading is what "actually" happened or Tom/Tomi's creative re-telling of the family stories. Another novel where I wished I'd constructed a family tree to keep me oriented, especially as the family is even more extended than first appears. I was reading this through a bout of illness, which was probably the wrong time to do it.… (mere)
