Craig Graham Sager was born in Batavia, Illinois on June 29, 1951. After graduating from Northwestern University, he worked as a reporter for a radio station in Sarasota, Florida. He then worked at TV stations in Florida and Kansas City, Missouri before joining CNN in 1981. In 1990, he started vis mere working for Turner Sports, where he covered the N.B.A., golf, the National Football League, college football and basketball, and Major League Baseball. He was best known as a sideline reporter for the N.B.A. In July 2016, he received the Jimmy V Perseverance Award. His autobiography, Living Out Loud: Sports, Cancer and the Things Worth Fighting For, was published in November 2016.
