Book for primary. This is a sweet book on a class writing about all the different types of fathers, and how much they love their fathers. Some issues with using this book in a classroom: not all kids have dads who are in their lives. Not all kids have great relationships with their dads like in this book.

This book does a really nice job of capturing the feeling of being a little kid and exploring and finding out what the library is like! I thought it was very affectionately crafted! :)

One of those old children's book that I assume would not get made today. It's so loaded with stereotypes the mother of the title character actually walks around carrying a crystal ball.

And if you disregard all the offensive stuff, the story is extremely slight. A little girl is so happy that her father found her some new red patent-leather shoes that she wanders around her new neighborhood in a big city asking people if they will watch her dance in them. Most of the folks are too busy, but she keeps trying until she can't contain the dance anymore.

I love how well this telling captures the courage of this enslaved hero who took huge risks to spy on the British.

This book follows a family as the two children experience their first time at the zoo!! It shows the excitement, curiosity, and total wonderment that fills children when they experience new things. I would use this book to show how exciting new things can be and also to maybe introduce new animals to my students.
