Ellisiv Reppen

The book teaches the reader chess, from the most basic rules to some strategy and tactics. It's definitely geared towards absolute beginners, since even I--a patzer--already understood all of the concepts outlined. It was a good refresher of the basic rules and strategies, though.
It has many detailed illustrations, and exercises in the form of chess puzzles. I wish it could've picked up the pace a little.
