Generally a good discussion of the reincarnation's place in Christianity, in fact, damn good, but the book suffers, like all of Prophet's work, from her stupid I AM, Summit University, new age, "I talk to the Ascended Masters" bullshit.½

One of the few books that I can read over and over again. I am always learning something new from it.

Informative documentary proof of the Lost years of Jesus, not in the traditional Bible

It was a controversial subject that tried to investigate what happened to Jesus from age 12 to 30. It was a good attempt to discover what Jesus did in that time span but no definite answers were given. There were no tangible evidence aside from Buddhist scrolls that signify that Jesus was there. All are still speculations and what was written has a lot of differences with the Bible that made it controversial. More questions were presented than answers itself.

The writing was a bit redundant and boring in a way.

All prophecy books are highly amusing and occassinally hit something right. But it's fun.

I bought this book just so that I would have a bound translation of the Book of Enoch, and wound up reading … well, most of it. The translation provided here is by Richard Laurence, LL. D. But there’s much more in Prophet’s book than this translation.

Genesis chapter six tells how the sons of God (the Watchers) procreated with the daughters of men to create a race of giants known as the Nephilim. The Book of Enoch, much of which was written as early as the 3rd century BC, expands upon the story of the Watchers, and was well-read in the century of Christ. It seems to have been revered as scripture, quoted directly in the Bible. Rabbis and Christian Church fathers in later centuries, however, denounced the book and banned it.

Prophet takes about eighty pages of her book to detail the “hidden references” in the Bible to the Watchers and the Book of Enoch, and this section alone is worth the price of the book. When researching for my book about Revelation, I became convinced that there was simply no way to understand what John was writing about without reading Enoch; it contained the source of many of the beliefs espoused by Revelation.

So, let’s talk about the origin of evil. Did rebel angels take on human bodies to fulfill their lust for the “daughters of men?” Did these fallen angels teach men to build weapons of war? Prophet takes Enoch quite seriously, and delves into other ancient literature as well as she details what we should know about embodied angels. In a chapter titled Spiritual Solutions, she teaches us to chart our “divine self.” You get the idea; I’m afraid this isn’t really my thing, so my rating of four stars is based upon the translation and research, not the evangelizing.

This book, by Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet, wasn't what
I'd thought it would be. And it could have been, perhaps, if it had
been written by anyone else but these two.

See, the idea is that there has to be more to what Jesus had to say than
what is recorded in the New Testament. There are at least 17 lost years
of his life, from the age of 12 to 30. The last thing we heard of him
before that disappearance was that he was in the Temple with the rabbis,
teaching them and astounding them with his knowledge. It simply makes
no sense that a person with that capability and that much chutzpah would
simply go off and lead a quiet life and not say anything of importance
for 17 years. There's also all those hints throughout the Gospels where
it is said that Jesus taught the disciples and explained things to them,
but it doesn't tell us what those teachings and explanations were. They
were secret, to be passed along only from one disciple to another and
have been lost.

Ok, with that much of a teaser, this book mentions (but just barely)
that there are documents from the 1st Century throughout India, Tibet,
Pakistan and other places in Asia that relate how Jesus was there during
that mysterious 17 years and that most of his secret teachings are
directly related to what we know now as "Eastern religions." The whole
chakra, reincarnation, etc. thing. But the book never really quotes
from the documents, doesn't really pinpoint them and what they really said.

Instead, this is basically a compilation of sermons by these two
preachers who try to relate what the teachings had to say but without
documentation, this amounts to nothing more than a bunch of verbose
(VERY verbose) ramblings. I mean, these folks could put an army to
sleep. This was a very difficult book to read, and it was only by sheer
determination that I finished it, hoping that somewhere in it there
might be something that I could research elsewhere and further study.
No such luck. What drivel!½

Yessss, well.... go for the referenced material, which is reasonably good. The author's interpreations, however, fail to convince at least me.
