Christine NC6stlinger nacio en Austria en 1936. En 1984 obtuvo el premio Hans Christian Andersen, considerado el premio Nobel de la literatura infantil, por su obra representada en mas de sesenta libros para ninos y jovenes. De la misma autora, Torre de Papel ha publicado otros titulos sobre el mismo personaje.

Paul tiene que marcharse de su ciudad y dejar a su amiga Susi. A través de las cartas que se escriben, ambos irán dibujando la nueva vida que se abre ante ello. ¿Volverán algún día a estar juntos?

Sorprendida, la señora Bartolotti recibe por correo un niño de siete años. Obligada por las circunstancias, deberá cuidar de él y educarlo. Y lo hará; pero eso sí, de forma original y divertida.

Ana es una niña con un gran problema: se enfada por todo. Cualquier cosa la pone furiosa. Aunque todos intentan ayudarla, ella no lo acepta y se pone aún más agresiva con quien lo intenta. Ella también se da cuenta de su comportamiento y quiere cambiar. Pero no lo consigue. Su abuelo le compra un tambor. Cuando está enfadada, lo toca y el enfado se le pasa. Así logra vencer su problema. Ana ya no se enfada tanto y todos quieren ser sus amigos y desean que toque el tambor.

Bertie Bartolotti gets an unexpected package one day and opens it to discover that it's a factory-made child. He's very well-behaved (he's been programmed to be), which completely befuddles the untidy, crazy-clothes-wearing, non-conforming Bertie. Her gentleman friend, though, thinks that Conrad is a perfect little boy and volunteers (rather rudely, if I'm honest) to be his father. And so they begin a sort of life together, until one day Bertie gets a letter from the factory stating that they've discovered the mistaken delivery and will be round to pick up the child soon. Conrad must change his always-obedient ways to escape reclamation and stay with the slightly strange but loving family he's stumbled into.
A little weird and sort of goofy, but I did love Bertie and Conrad tons by the end. Aimed at middle grade readers and I think they'd enjoy this kind of thing.

Sweet, funny, and full of surprises. This young person's novel wandered in a charming way from one point of view to another. There's the child Friederike, who is teased and scorned, not only by other children but by their parents as well, until she finds her special talents. There's a color-blind postman, and his wife, who care for one another in tender ways, frequently by refraining from saying the obvious to one another; through these characters the author sneaks a miniature portrait of a happy marriage into the pages of a children's book. There is Friederike's aunt, a woman who has given up on herself until she finds renewed courage through the example of her niece. There is a teacher who wants to do the right thing, then settles for the easy thing. There's a talking cat, of course. Much is left unexplained, and that was just right.

En un poblado africano vivía Jedjero, un hombre rico que tenía dos esposas, Akisi y Sita. Cada una de ellas le dio una hija: Sata y Madisú. Sata era fea y holgazana y Madisú bella y hacendosa. Pronto, muere Sita, la madre de Madisú, y ésta tendrá que obedecer a su madrastra, que le encarga todas las tareas duras del hogar. Se acerca una fecha muy especial en el poblado con ocasión de la celebración de la Fiesta del Ñame, donde las jóvenes casaderas aprovechas para buscar marido. Tras una serie de peripecias, a pesar de estar vestida con las ropas más pobres, la belleza natural de Madisú triunfa sobre su malvada hermanastra y consigue el interés del hijo del rey. Maravillosa adaptación del cuento clásico LA CENICIENTA, llevado a la belleza de la sabana africana.

I had an Ilse when I was younger: my cousin was very beautiful, she seemed very self-assured and she was a compulsive liar. We didn't live together, but I adored her, and was so, so happy whenever she would spend time with me. It took me ages to figure out that she was using me and lying to me and I felt so stupid for not realizing it all sooner.
So reading Erika's story felt, in some ways, like reading my own story. She was so eager to please, so happy to be her sister's confidante that she was completely blindsided by the truth, because she refused to think about what was going on for a second. I was more than a bit disappointed in the character when she didn't confront her sister at the end, when she still craved her love, even though she now had other people she could trust, but I suppose that Erika is different from me as well, and can bear much more. I find it quite strange that in all the German books I've read so far, the characters are more... Real, as if the author never cared to make them likeable. This book is no exception: though Erika was mostly shown in a good light, I feel this was because the book was from her perspective, and even then, we were shown some pretty major character flaws. Plus, I feel like the whole book was incomplete, as what was, for me, the main conflict: Ilse's behavior - was unsolved, merely pushed back a bit more. I really wish there were a sequal, as these are characters I would love to revisit!

«Este es un libro sobre cómo deseducar a un niño demasiado perfecto para ser un niño. Y es claramente un libro que se escribe en la Europa de los años 70 cuando la literatura infantil se atrevía a plantearse historias dirigidas a sus lectores para que estos se divirtieran, sin mirar por el rabillo del ojo a los adultos buscando su aprobación. Pero no hay que ser ingenuos del todo, Christine Nöstlinger no olvida a los adultos, y también se dirige a ellos, aunque seguramente a una clase de adultos que estaba deseando escuchar una historia como ésta donde queda patente que hay que dejar a los niños ser niños y que privarles del humor, las peleas y algo de desorden, puede llegar a crear desajustes. Konrad es un niño de siete años fabricado para ser perfecto, es decir: educado, formal, nada respondón, buen compañero, enemigo de las palabras soeces y de los insultos, comedor de alimentos sanos, respetuoso con sus mayores… que llega por error, en una lata, a la casa de la señora Berta Bartolotti una artista hippy más bien desordenada, estrafalaria y poco convencional. Este choque de caracteres, más que desacuerdos, trae mucho cariño y tolerancia y cuando reclamen la mercancía, por haberla enviado a un lugar equivocado, su madre adoptiva se las ingeniará para no perder a su perfecto hijito.»

La novel a Ana esta furiosa, escrita por la autora Christine Nöstlinger, nos enseña que hay muchas formas de calmar nuestra rabia y también enseña que nuestra rabia puede hacernos cometer muchos errores como lastimar a algien o hacernos daño a nosotros mismos.
Este es el cuarto libro que he leído de esta autora y les recomiendo leerla.
