I don't think this is a great book to be introduced to Love Canal. The author makes heavy use of foreshadowing and less use of actually writing about things. I took a writing class once where our professor always told us "tell them what you're going to tell them (for the introduction), tell them (body of the report), and then tell them what you told them (for the conclusion)." This book felt like 70% "tell them what you're going to tell them" and only 30% "tell them."… (mere)
