Great rundown of some of Tucson's better buildings, but has a few notable omissions: the 20-story international style tower at 32 N. Stone Ave., once called the Home Federal Tower, then the Great American Bank tower and now, sadly, the Pima County Legal Services bldg. If the banal Transamerica Building at 177 N. Church Ave. can make it into the book, why not the old Home Fed Tower? Also missing is the interesting building at 150 N. Stone Ave., which currently houses the Wells Fargo Bank. I don't know if it's as old as it is made to look -- it has marble columns and arches -- but it certainly is worth checking out. I think it has been there in its present form since at least the 1960s, maybe 50s. Before that, I'm not so sure, based on old photos and vintage postcards.… (mere)
