Written in praise of the onion and all its relatives, this book is full of recipes, reflections and bits of information and history. Perhaps it is the generation gap, or the cultural gap, but I did not find it nearly as amusing as the author seemed to think he was being. The recipes are difficult to read, and frankly, not very unique or special, but I didn't read this until the end, only just past half way. Life is short, I have lots of books to read.
