Suzanne L. Marchand completed her BA in history at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1984 and her PhD at the University of Chicago in 1992. She then served as assistant and associate professor at Princeton University (1992-9), before moving to Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, where vis mere she is now professor of European intellectual history.
