Stephen H. Lekson is curator emeritus of archaeology and professor emeritus of anthropology at the Museum of Natural History, University of Colorado, Boulder. - Lekson's research area is the archaeology of the North American Southwest. His research interests are in the origins of government, regional patterning, and architecture. His publications encompass the archaeology of Chaco, Mesa Verde, Mimbres Mogollon, Hohokam, and Casas Grandes; Apache ethnohistory; and archaeological method and theory. He also teaches and publishes in Museum Studies.
