Amazing tool to assess where your kid's readiness to approach math (exploration, beginning manipulative, manipulative, abstract), in a number of math disciplines. There also are a bunch of problems using a variety of manipulatives at each level in each branch of math. The book is geared toward 2 - 8 grader, but I'm finding that Z can handle the beginning to abstract in some, but definitely not all, areas. Also, there's a good explanation of common and not-as-common math manipulatives and what to use them for.… (mere)
