Quickie Review (May contain spoilers)

Bound by Tears was quite an interesting read. I really was glad to be bad to this world from this author. Not a fan of the new covers or anything, so I am sticking with these covers because they just represent the story more authentically.

I had a good time with this one. It starts off really emotionally intense and has such drama attached to it. I really felt for the heroine but she becomes very cold and prickly from the trauma she experiences. She was very unlikeable, but its understandable after you see what she goes through. I do understand why she felt the way that she does. Then we have our hero, who is such an alpha male and it was so delicious. I love how he centers the heroine, and sees the woman she hides underneath such a cold exterior. I really enjoyed how this development was captured within the story. The plot is well done and I liked how it connected to what happened in the previous book. There was some mystery, although some of what is resolved didn't really make sense. There was no
"why" explained behind the suspense portions and it felt a bit unsatisfying to not get the purpose behind everything.

Overall I had a good time with this one, not my favorite of the series, but it was a solid read.½

Dani was TSTL! It was totally unbelievable that a bad ass biker would be with someone that immature! I know it's fiction but it needs to be a little believable. The timing and execution was off throughout.

Introduction
Bound by Dreams is the fifth installment in the "Cauld Ane" series and wow has it been a long while since I have read these books here. But it was so wonderful to return to this world that this author has created. Now I do want to clarify that these books are also under a different author name, I guess the author decided to switch fully to her other pen name, but I don't like the covers so I am sticking with these, they just seem to resonate better with the stories themselves if I am being honest. So this story was so wonderful. It did have a couple of plot holes in the romance itself so there were parts that felt a bit rushed but overall was a solid fated mates romance. Its also one of those PNR's that doesn't fully feel like a PNR. It has a more contemporary feel to it with slight supernatural elements mixed in.

Summary
Charlotte Whitmore is a aspiring actress, she has just left a bad relationship and ready to take on someone fresh and new. When she meets a fellow actor, it seems to just work and feel normal again. But when she starts to hear a voice in her dreams, which is of the infamous drummist in a Irish band that she has been fangirling most of her adult life she thinks he can't be real. Until he enters her life and claims that they are mates. Niall knows that Charlotte is his mate, but he must first woo her and convince her they are worth taking a chance on. What starts as a steady friendship turns into something more, but Charlotte's past will come to bite them and soon they will be caught up in a family drama and secrets that neither of them imagined...

My Outlook
This story was so fantastic and highly entertaining. I am so happy that a fellow blogger was able to introduce me to these books here. So thank you Sophia Rose if you are reading this :P So I really loved this one because its literally our couple finding each other from their dreams. I love a good dream walker romance and this author handled this element so well. I do want to address my main issue with the story first before we get to the really solid workings of the book here. What I really struggled with was the heroine, she was a bit flakey when it came to relationships. Yes she is starting to date this fellow actor, but there isn't much spark just a nice attraction. But then her fated mate comes into her life, and they have been sharing dreams and she knows that there is more between them so what does she do? FRIEND ZONE HIM like girl you have been fan girling this man all of your adult life, your dream man comes into your life and wants to be with you forever and you friendzone him. It was just weird and then suddenly she was like lets mate haha There were just some of these relationship plot holes that didn't quite match up with the story. But once they got into the relationship than the rest of the story was super solid which is why its a solid 4 star read. Because even with my issue with the heroine being a bit flakey in the beginning, she does make up for it throughout the rest of the story. Now the hero was just delectable, I just loved him all the way through. We also have a bit of a mystery being introduced into this one and I can't wait to get into the next book so we can see who the 3rd sister is. Definitely intrigued to see where the author is taking this one.

Enjoyable

There were some grammatical errors/mistakes in editing and some parts were pretty corny. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

3.75 Stars
I liked it but it is S L O W Burn and there are parts that felt disjointed.
Working on getting the whole series but the way they are listed makes it difficult to know what you have. The reason is the Authors Pen Names!
I actually purchased this one twice by mistake because they are listed on Amazon separately under each name. And on GR the same problem exist.
They need to be merged!
And they keep changing the editions on Amazon. Even now there is yet another NEW edition on Amazon and this one is no longer available. Yet it's the Same Damn Book!
Author's 2nd pen name is Piper Davenport!

Anyway, I will definitely be reading #2.

I raced through this story. Two wonderful protagonists, especially Austin. Great sex, lots of humour and an alpha male to weep for. No complaints.

OMG....how do you know an author has you dialed in.....when the hot Alpha MC Prez does something so stupid you almost throw your kindle down to hunt his ass to kick it soundly.

Thorne "Sundance" Graves and Wyatt Davies meet when he is getting chemo and she is taking her dad for his chemo. They talk, flirt....but nothing much more. I mean they are in the middle of a chemo clinic.

Weeks pass after the last time the see one another. Sundance is in remission, Wyatt's father has passed. But the sparks are still flying, now just higher than before. Sundance is feeling good and in the mood to conquer Wyatt. But she's not going down without a fight. She doesn't know about the MC culture but what she does know makes her wary. And being that she's the only one left to care for her older, developmentally challenged brother, Teddy....she's not about to go down without a fight.

Go down she does. In flames. Remember that moment I hinted at that made me want to throw my kindle and kick some ass. Yea, well Sundance...oh Sundance, limited information and a hair trigger temper...no a good combination. Is this the end of our couple?

Well you can guess the answer to that. What you won't see coming is a mole in the MC? A betrayal that rocks one of it's long term members. A rebuilding of trust. The start of a new life for Teddy, outside the walls of the special house? And the whispers of a new enemy emerging. Can Sundance and Dimple (his nickname for Wyatt) survive, will she be willing to try a second time?

I'm not telling all but you will enjoy this.

To me the blurb doesn't really describe the book properly.

Yes, Parker does find herself in the middle of something but she's not to sole focus of the trouble. She's roughed up a bit by some guy who wants a message sent to the DOF president. After that she and the rest of the families of the MC are locked down. That's the end of her trouble.

What I like is that this couple has history. They know each other from the MC and the fact that her two besties are hooked up with two of Rabbit's MC brothers. In the prologue we learn that Rabbit is hurt and it shakes Parker into admitting her love for him.....yet....

A quick wedding to get things settled once and for all! In other books this would feel rushed but you get their backstory so it seems long overdue.

Now there is trouble for the MC but that's not the focus here or at least not the complete focus. Parker gets herself into a situation that could have ended sooo badly. A pregnant Parker is kidnapped by a woman she knows. This woman was supposedly pregnant too but what she wants is to take the baby from Parker's belly. And Rabbit gets kidnapped and given a really really out of left field, I never saw THIS coming proposal. The FBI setting up a team of hackers and computer wizard to help bring down some of the MC's involved in illegal activities. They want Rabbit and his sister to be part of this team. The carrot they dangle....immunity for the MC.

It was an enjoyable read. I got into the story and felt myself getting mad and sad when they did. When you start back talking to some of them you know it's a good story. Can't wait for the next in this series.

When Adam "Orion" Graves finally meets Raquel "Razzle" Sommers their chemistry could burn up the people standing around them. He the heir apparent to the Primal Howlers MC. She is the little sister to the President of the Dogs of Fire, a Georgia MC. She's in Colorado to go to college.

Now what I really love about this story is not that their's is a hot, burn up the sheets romance. Or that the alpha attitude runs strong in both of them. And the sarcasm...love witty banter. What I really dig is that we know she's in college and I just naturally took it for granted it was for some business degree or maybe a political science...I admit, guilty of stereotyping characters. Turns out she's worried about flunking her microbiology exam and worried her thesis research is falling behind. The effects cannabis has on certain childhood diseases.

Like any good MC series we have issues with other MCs. Retribution for harm caused. Someone is fighting cancer and it could change everything. These guys are quick thinking, act even quicker and show no mercy when it comes to protecting what is theirs.

Piper has stated that the next book in the series will be Sundance, Orion's father-Prez of the MC. What I'm really excited about....Wrath, I think he's going to be a beast of a biker. I think this series is off to a great start with this young couple. Smart. Sexy. And ready for whatever gets thrown their way. BRING ON THE HOWLERS!!!!

Piper has done it again!

Written another story full of characters I love and want as my family.

Sabrina is a single woman raising her nephew after her sister OD'd. But something has happened and Felix is missing.

Time to do what she has to do. Meet the biker that is Stoney, Felix's father, and ask for his help.

Once you get started you aren't going to want to put this book down. There's just so much to it. The relationship between Sabrina and Stony. Stony and Felix....learning how to be father and son. Just how did Maria, Felix's mom, die....was it an OD or something more. And if it was, what does that mean for them? You really just need to read this for yourself.

While it started out somewhat promising, it fairly quickly devolved into circular repetition.

Implausibly, Sadie and Ryder- the conventional opposites- attract so immediately that they are emotionally intertwined immediately- and this does not change. Their periodic spats do not seem serious, especially since they spat over the exact same things over and over again until it is tedious. And then do it some more.

Sadie is very annoying. When she gets involved with Ryder, she gets hooked into his world willy-nilly- and she does her best to fight the reasonable protections Ryder tries to impose to save her from actual, realistic danger.

I also got overdosed on the endless lovey-dovey stuff. A mutual admiration society is no substitute for a couple having serious differences and working them out.

And- if you are triggered by gratuitous rape- avoid this book. Ryder's sister is kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery, and while it's mentioned as Really Grave, it's mostly included as a way to show the Bad Guys are REALLY BAD!!! This is the worst possible way to refer to serious trauma, since it minimizes it and the trauma of it; it's a cheap, easy trick that displays a lack of compassion to survivors.

This is the 2nd book of the Ms. Jackson's Civil War Brides series. It continues the story of Sophie and Jamie (from Book 1), but the primary focus is now on Emma (Jamie's sister) and Clayton Madden. I thought it was fairly well written. I noticed that Ms. Jackson continued using the modern phrases in Emma's dialogue as opposed to the natural phrases or euphemisms of this particular era. (She did this with Sophie in Book 1 and it was hilarious.)

I felt that this book wasn't as strong as Book 1. It's still a good book though.

Ending the book with Lincoln's Gettysburg Address--Excellent! I loved it.

It took me almost all week to finish this read (because I have a super-crazy work schedule that leaves me mentally drained). I love the interaction between Gwendolyn and Andrew, as well as Gwen's interaction with Sophie, Emma, and Hannah. The girls should be nicknamed the Fiery Four because when they get determined to get their way, nothing will stop them! The men certainly have their hands full.

This book is filled with humorous moments, historical facts, and lots of intrigue. If you made it through the first three books of the series, read this fourth installment too. It'll be worth your time. Onward to book five!

This was a pretty good book. (I also remember reading the first book of the series, but I don't think I recorded my thoughts anywhere.) I like the fact that Pepper and Con can read each other's minds, much like Sam and Kade.

I hope the third book is just as good!

At first, I wasn't sure I was going to like this book, but now I do! It was a great read. Rayne struck me as a spoiled brat who had gotten way too used to being in the spotlight and demanding her own way every single time. She really needed a good support system and got that through Hannah, Sophie, and Victoria. I hope that as the series continues that she will grow in maturity.

Onward to Book 7!

I enjoyed this book. The beginning was great: being accused of murder and suddenly whisked off to the Civil War era via time travel. Jessica (Jake) is a great character. I think she fits in well with Sophie, Hannah, and the rest of the girls. I also liked getting to know the other characters such as Tracker and Topper. It was a good one to finish up that one "loose end" from Book One.

I finally was able to finish all 9 books of this series. I liked it for the most part. Some of the books had the same plot: lady goes back to the past, meets handsome man and falls immediately in love. I did like the history part of the books, when mentioned. The first books included more battles than the last 6 books. I read the sweet series and not the raunchy, sex included series that Ms. Jackson has made when she revised this series. I wouldn't buy that series.

I had been wondering how Ms. Jackson was going to weave her crew of characters into Lincoln's final days. It was well-done.

History aside, I like this one big difference: sending a man back into time instead of a woman! That was a surprise and a great one! We've seen so many brides from the future going back into time, so I have to say that sending a man back in time was a great way to end the series. He's reunited with his sister. He seems to adjust well enough in the 1860's culture to find himself a woman, marry her, and live his own "happily ever after."

The ending was good too: allowing us all to find out how the families grew and changed over the years. It was a fitting end to a long series.

It's a cute little story. I have noticed that this series has a lot of the "instant" love thing going on. Instant attraction/hook-up. Almost instant profession of love. While the characters are different and the time line is progressing through the Civil War, the set-up still feels very much the same. I keep hoping that the remainder of the books will be somewhat different.

I think Crow is a wonderful man. (I don't care for his past of hooking up with a lot of women though.) His attraction to Shaye is very clear as well as her attraction to him. But I still think it was too much too fast instead of a natural progression. The fact that he is an Native American and she is not was a great aspect of the book to bring out. Interracial courting/marriage was strictly taboo during this time. So it made sense to propel them both back to the future (or our present day) because it's legal now.

Ready for book 8!

I loved Book 5: The Rebel Bride. I think the fact that Quinn calls her "Rebel" is rather endearing! The story line is quite satisfying, as is the dialogue.

My only issue is that I'm noticing a little more foul language. It's not my preference, but it's a wee bit hard to let it roll off.

I really hope that the agent (Ben?) mentioned in the beginning of the book will somehow get transported into the Civil War era in Book 6. I could be wrong, but i am hoping!!!!!!
