Though the book is dated and the loose conversational structure is not to my taste, the information is useful.

Almost twenty years old, but some parts are still worth reading. Chapter 5, on lexical phonology, for example, though not so much on lexical phonology as such but on the questions that it responded to, and the second half of Chapter 6 says a lot about movements of thought in the post-generative world. Afterthought: I'm the author. I was the author.
