I loved this film, years ago, when I saw it on television with my father. So I was delighted when it finally came out on DVD. This film shows Danny Kaye at his best, as the naive court jester, caught up in a dastardly plot.
There are some classic moments, such as the 'flagon with the dragon' and the 'chalice from the palace', and also the speeded-up knight-making process.
Very enjoyable if you don't mind silliness and some slapstick, with innuendoes which I'm sure I didn't notice as a child.… (mere)

Goofy fun. The songs, except when there are jokes, are bad. But just about everything else about this movie is weirdly good.
