Not one of the better Altemus series...I suspect I may have gotten one of the later editions that was edited to save paper, as the text is quite jumpy and sometimes feels like key details are left out. It's a stock turn-of-the-century series: poor kids, rich snobby relation, lady bountiful, lost relations, madcap adventures, etc.. Still quite enjoyable, like cotton candy for the brain.
