Gibson is a park police officer at a Texas state park (which who knew that there's a difference between a Park Ranger and a Park police officer, I didn't) while Delaney is an architect for a family company that does all sorts of construction stuff. They're the two main characters in the story, but boy oh boy were there other characters as well. Two exes, a few friends, both women's families, including a brother for each.

Delaney and her family's company are doing work at the park where Gibson works, fixing a dam and Gibson is assigned to be the company's liaison with the park. Both Delaney and Gibson have just gotten out of relationships and even as both the characters keep saying and wondering if they're going too fast I thought the author set a good pace for how the relationship unfolded.

Overall the novel was a pretty usual lesbian romance in its construction. Meet, fall in love, problems/issues come up, we see how they do or don't deal with them. But, this novel did seem a bit more intense than usual. It wasn't one of the humongous themes, but domestic violence played a part in the story line for sure, as did poaching and both those things made for a violent book in some parts.

But, on the other hand, there were a ton of humorous and touching things that happened too, which kept the book from getting too dark. Maddie, Gibson's best friend was hilarious, as was the relationships between Delaney and the rest of her family.

In fact the two different family dynamics in the women's families was one of the really interesting parts of the novel and I thought the author did great with it.

All in all a solid lesbian romance. Oh, and the names, and especially the nicknames used in the book were great.… (mere)

Cinnamon, a single woman is searching for love but is still yearning for Mr Wrong who broke her heart. Her best friend Sasha is with her own Mr Wrong and doesn't want to let him go. The book follows the two woman in their quest for love.
The characters in the book are quirky but likeable. Unfortunately that also makes them predictable. The story progresses at a decent pace and the author is talented in painting word pictures making it easy for the reader to be drawn into the story. The book was okay. I wouldn't call my friends and suggest they run out and buy it but, I wouldn't discourage its purchase either.
