After reading the first book in this series I couldn't wait to read the second. However, this one wasn't as good as the first.

The Lennox brothers; Cole and Burke ( that we first "met" in Their Virgin Captive, are back with their own story. They own their own Security/PI business. Cole is the brooding male that we all hate to love and Burke is the easy one. They meet Jessa a year before the main story happens and there are flash backs to their days together. Jessa has loved them since then and while she tries very poorly to guard her heart in the end they get the girl.
There was a lot more sex in this book than the first and there was not a lot on the plot. I know that the son of the man they put in jail was wanting to make the boys feel as bad as he did when his father was killed in jail, though there was very little action when it came to this. He took Jessa, and within a chapter or so the boys had killed him and his goons and jessa was safe.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was like I was watching an action movie, I loved the dynamic of the group and what each guy brought to it but I also loved River. She was a strong willed woman who could handle herself. Jax and River have amazing chemistry and I loved their push and pull. Overall it’s a great read that I can’t wait to read more.

I’ve said it before but every time I read a book in this series or the previous series it feels like watching an action movie. There is so much going on with The Lost Boys, they are all trying hard to figure out who they are, what is happening, and what will their future look like. Robert is a lost boy who was tortured, brain washed, and held prisoner by evil people who wanted to create super soldiers to do as they want with them. Ariel is the team psychologist but she also an ex MI 6 operative and she’s trying hard to help these Lost Boys but she falls for Robert hard. There are so many twists and turns yet we find out a little more about each guy and what the people after them and the evil doctor’s data are up to. I loved Rob and Ari together they had great chemistry and towards the end I found myself extremely invested in Ezra and Kim’s story. I can’t wait for Tucker’s because it’s going to be very interesting to see how his situation affects them all, but I really want Ezra and Kim together.

Rating - 2.75 Good plot, but the sex scene descriptions could have been less porn" like. The story wasnt gripping enough to override that and i lost interest"½

I knew as soon as I read the summary of this book that the grandma would be my favorite character and sure enough she did not disappoint. All of the characters are really well written to be honest! They all have layers and depth that are relatable. The focus of the book is less the romance and more the relationships that Ivy has with all the women in her life. The romance is more of a side story to be honest. The book has some real comedic moments and timing that are perfection. The one character and romance choice I didn't like is that it felt a bit like instalove to me.
My issue with this book is that while it was good at times it just felt like it was dragging on. It didn’t feel like much actually happened in the 250 pages. I loved that Ivy was a girl boss in this one, and it does an amazing job of addressing what it looks like for women to be successful in a male dominated field. The book really spends a lot of time focusing on how differently Ivy faces the backlash of her company being sold than Nick her ex does, though he was more at fault.
Overall, I think it’s a cute story and really something for when you need a cozy read. Or if you just love girl boss books. The techy component kind of went over my head some but I’m sure is a selling point for others… all I know is the best character in this book is Nonna and you can’t convince me otherwise.

I really enjoyed this book and it was a good strong read, but I found myself thinking this fit more in the ‘woman’s fiction’ category than a romance; however, I can understand why the romantic aspect of this story between Ivy and Heath is so strong in parts and so absent in others because the primary focus of this book was Ivy’s growth. And I did enjoy the romance that was here and I saw how pivotal it was in Ivy’s growth and development, but at the same time I see the reason why at other points it was less developed because the focus of this book is IVY as a whole character and not her romance with Heath. There were certainly many humorous moments along the way, and loved all of Ivy's friends, but Heath was a good solid book boyfriend who fit the plot and his presence in every scene was so strong I can easily see why Ivy fell for him -- I know I did. The author’s writing style and skill are excellent, but I found myself reading and responding to this as a more traditional work of fiction and I found myself craving more of the romantic qualities, because there were such wonderful nuances and touches that I wanted to see further developed and explored. This is a wonderfully written book if you are looking for a light women’s fiction that highlights the pressures that are put on women by others and themselves and you want to identify with the FMC because Ivy is so relatable - you will see aspects of yourself in her all the time and for me that is the mark of good writing. For this reason I was engaged with Ivy’s story and was happy for her each time her character developed and cheered her on each time she faced a new hurdle in her development. I will be returning to visit with this group of friends and look forward to the second book in the Park Avenue Promise because I know it will be an excellent book. Thanks to the author and Valentine PR for allowing me to read this book and share my views on it.

Smoke and Sin
4 Stars

Series note: This is book #4 in The Perfect Gentlemen series. Each book continues the ongoing story arc, and therefore, must be read in order.

***Warning: Minor Spoilers Ahead***

In this installment, the Perfect Gentlemen and the women in their lives travel to London where Roman Calder and Augusta Spencer join forces to investigate the mysterious death of Constance Hayes and its connection to the deaths of others close to the President. As they work together, Roman and Gus must come to terms with their volatile past and decide whether or not to take a chance on their future.

Roman and Gus's romance is the best in the series thus far. Both have grown and matured over the years and have come to realize that they are better together than apart. Gus's strength and self-confidence make her a particularly engaging heroine and it is fun watching her bring the cool, calm and collected Roman to his knees.

Despite the ups and downs of the various romantic relationships in the books, the twists and turns in the ongoing mystery keep the pages turning. Following the clues and developing theories regarding who did what, when, and where is particularly entertaining and I eagerly await the answers to the open questions in the final book focusing on the President and his press secretary. It should be one hell of a showdown!

At the Pleasure of the President
4 Stars

The conspiracy plot comes to a head as President Zack Hayes must confront the ghosts of his past and determine whether he can trust the only woman he has ever loved.

This final installment in the series provides a satisfying ending to the engrossing mystery plot that has been developing from the first book, and the last few chapters are intense and exciting with some final surprising twists and turns.

Nevertheless, similar to the romances of the other Perfect Gentlemen, Zack and Liz's relationship is undermined by his questionable treatment of her. Despite their excellent chemistry, Zack's behavior leaves much to be desired and Liz is far too forgiving.

The secondary romance between Mad and Sara is very sweet and he more than makes up for his cruel actions. Of all the heroes in the series, he works the hardest to get back into her good graces and he definitely gives the best grovel :)

Overall, this is series is well worth the read for the brilliant plot, and even though the heroes are a pack of alpha jerks at times, the HEAs are very entertaining.

Big Easy Temptation
3.5 Stars

Series note: This is book #3 in The Perfect Gentlemen and continues immediately from where the previous book ended. As such, the series must be read in order.

The story is presented in three different time periods: Dax and Holland's initial meeting nine years prior to the events of Seduction in Session, followed by their investigation into the death of Dax's father three years earlier, and finally a return to the present and the revelations concerning the ongoing story arc.

When done well, flashbacks can contribute significantly to character and plot development. However, in this case, it is a mixed bag. While the details concerning Dax's father are interesting and necessary for advancing the storyline, the romance in these sections is problematic primarily due to Dax and Holland's inevitable separation and the fact that the reader is constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.

That said, Dax and Holland have the sweetest romance of the three so far. It is obvious that they care deeply for one another, and the hurt and betrayal that keep them apart are heart-breaking. Their reconciliation in the present is one of the best aspects of the book despite one or two asshat moments on Dax's part and Holland's tendency toward being too forgiving.

With regard to the conspiracy, there are some excellent twists and turns and some great actions scenes. Nevertheless, there are still more questions than answers and I look forward to finally learning the truth behind it all.

Dax's sister, Augusta Spencer, and the 4th Perfect Gentleman, Roman Calder, are the focus of the next book, and I look forward to the feisty Gus finally putting Roman and his machinations in their place.

With a pending ethics investigation and a broken marriage, Jayna Cardet returns home to Papillon to lick her wounds before finding a new job and place to live. Quaid Harvey stayed in Papillon after his father died and assumed the role of town attorney even though his heart has always been in mystery writing. Almost nobody recognizes Jayna as the awkward girl who grew up and left for the big city, but when she goes up against Quaid in her first court case, he takes notice of what an interesting woman she has become. A relationship between them can only be temporary since Jayna plans to leave as soon as she can, but Quaid may have other ideas as he tries convince her to navigate this unorthodox town together.

Bayou Beloved would make a wonderful Hallmark movie with all of the elements present that make for light, quirky romance. The characters are sweet and likable, and the problems they encounter are pretty easily managed. This story might have benefited from emotional challenges with more depth and more well-defined conflict between the characters. Overall, however, Bayou Beloved delivers what is promised in an entertaining fashion.

I don't know what I feel about the book. The idea was not bad, but probably it wasn't my type of book.

Riley's family was amazing. They were protective over each other, and they had that bound, which was so amazing to read. I loved Brann and Drew (I love Riley as well).

The story... I don't even know what I think about the story. I hated this piece-of-shit-Steven and I know from the beginning of the book that Lily is not so innocent.

Ellie - probably this is one of the few heroines I don't like. She was way too insecure, way too naive and the most frustrating thing to read was when She understood what Riley has done, and even when he was genuine about his feelings, he made him suffer.

Riley - I loved him. Amazing character. He had a bad past, but he changed for Ellie and wanted to become a better version of himself. I like that. I loved that he chose Ellie over vengeance, and he stayed to her side even when they weren't together, even when she didn't trust him and (she) thought he was playing games. He was so loyal to her and to his family and that really melted my heart.

The End was good. It had HEA, but it unveils the story in the next book.

Heroine - 3.5/6
Hero - 5.5/6
Plot Twist - 4.5/6
Ending - 5.5/6
Storyline - 5/6

Butterfly Bayou is the first in a series of romance novels set in Papillion Parish, Louisiana, a small Cajun town. The first book follows Lila Daley, a nurse practitioner who moves into the small town from Dallas, Texas, and struggles to fit in as she takes over the clinic. The attraction between her and Armie, the local sheriff, is immediate. The novel primarily follows their love story, with a B plot along the side of one of the clinic patients. This novel was overall an easy read, and enjoyable overall. My only gripe with the book is I found the character's falling in love a bit too fast - after only knowing one another for a few days, they get together and have an intense feelings for one another, and by the 3 week mark, they are apparently in love and marriage may be on the table.

It's been quite a while since I read this but I was reviewing another reverse harem and just wanted to recheck my thoughts and found I didn't write anything. So here it is. I loved this book. I loved almost everything about this book. Everything except the romance. It was swoon-worthy to be sure but it was also with multiple guys. I hate reverse harems. Any harems. I was shattered to find this series continues to add love interests because I just can't read it. That being said, everything else was perfect about this book. The characters were interesting, the plot was fascinating and the humour was hilarious. But it's not the series for me.

📕🎶;
I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of humor.
Plenty of Laugh 😁 Out 😆Loud 😂 moments.

Loved all the characters & female mc is fantastic.

Areas that had a 'YA' feel 🙁.

Loaded with action.
Slow build to the intimate adult scenes.
Surprising twist & turns.
A couple of slow areas.
Some repetition (very minor).
1 or 2 editing errors.

A fun read that did not disappoint.

It is very cloak-and-dagger with a lot of clandestine characters. A great suspense you can really sink your teeth in.
Sean and Grace, the main characters are well defined and easy to visualize. The other characters stand out too. You can feel the different connections with all the other players in this story. They are well defined by their actions and a few well placed and important words. Never overdone and never taking away from the real story, but giving the story more dimension and depth.
It is a very steamy adult romance. A thoroughly enjoyable read on all levels!

The story tended to drag a bit. There wasn't as much action nor suspense. It wasn't bad. It just didn't move. I didn't feel much of a connection with the main characters and the supporting characters weren't involved much either. It seemed to be mostly conversations about things but no one really doing anything or going anywhere. I liked what the story line was about. There were some really interesting parts. The 'Adult' romance was there and it was good. I need more than just hot romance to keep me invested in a story. It just never seemed to grab me.

The titles for these books don't do them justice. Filled with mystery, suspense and tons of action. It is a well written Adult Romance. But it is so much more than that. It's a great 'Cloak and Dagger'.
This one takes place in London, England. The McKay-Taggart agency, the CIA and MI6 are all involved. The bad guys are involved in arms trafficking. They are mean and dirty.
Liam and Avery, the lead H/H in this story, are fantastic to read about. Their chemistry and interactions are spot on! All the supporting characters are also well written. The interactions all through the story keeps you on your toes.
