Most computer languages are easy to find books for but R is more obscure. I guess in the library shelf rubric it falls between math, stats, and programming. Having trouble finding a good introduction to R, I settled on this.
It is the source footnoted in the online R help. And in fact, pages 365 to 880 are just the R help pages. But the first part of the book, pp. 1-365, are original, authoritative. These eleven chapters make it a great book for learning R.
