I have a quick question... where did the image, for the now defunct "book history" group come from? It's the color image of a court jester reading a book. Thanks!
I am about 4 hours away. Of course that is not to far at all for books. Thanks for the invite, I will certainly look into coming. I am going to see when it is and what I have going on that day. I would LOVE to come. Penny.
I see you're looking in on Samuel Johnson's catalog. By coincidence I just added William Bailey's The Advancement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce, which is already listed with Thomas Jefferson and which you'll come across in Ben Franklin's list as well. This is fun, but it's going to be a lot of work. My GOOGLE already has callouses, and I've just gotten through the A's.
Thanks for your offer of help! We're ready to go on the cataloging. Come on over to the group and check the first two posts in the "Volunteer for Your Section" thread to choose the books you want to enter.
Thanks for the offer of help on the Benjamin Franklin LT catalog. I want to check in with the "I See Dead People('s Books)" group to see how the manage multiple people working on one catalog. I'll contact you again after I do that, because I certainly will need the assistance! Thanks
Thanks for the reference to the Adam Smith catalogue. Unfortunately, that catalogue isn't really The One. Bonar did two: that was the earlier one. And even the later one omitted many books unknown to belong to Smith at the time. H. Mizuta's catalogue is the best at the moment.
I am also blclark, but lost my password and didn't seem to add an email. Oopsy.
