Are you ready to be a part of the destiny of your country? Releasing the Prophetic Destiny of a Nation is the remarkable of how God called two very different men to come together for a common cause: His desire to heal the United States of America.
Endowed with God-given keys for reconciliation of the United State, Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce traveled the 50 states rally apostles, prophets, intercessors and entire churches to break the grip of demonic strongholds. Their efforts to purge the land of territorial and generational sin began an open season of warfare against the principalities and powers entrenched in every state. Are you ready to join the fight to free your state an your country? Are you ready for God to release the prophetic destiny of your nation?

I always learn something and I am always challenged to pray more fervently when I read one of Dutch Sheets books.
We are all in a Spiritual Battle. I pray that the eyes of my heart are opened. I pray that God opens my eyes to see what He wants me see and do what He has equipped me to do!

I just finished this book. I read one chapter a day as a daily devotional over 30 days
and absolutely loved it.
Dutch always does a marvelous job of bringing Biblical stories to everyday life.

The final paragraph sums it up beautifully.

Never have I been more aware of the need to pray..... without ceasing than I am today.
I have read Intercessory Prayer by Dutch and Beth Alves book Becoming a Prayer Warrior. This book continues the Watchman type of prayer mentioned in those books. This book helped me see the different roles of a watchman and how to pray within that role. It gave some good Do's and Don'ts as well.

Authority in Prayer: Praying With Power and Purpose by Dutch Sheets is an awesome book filled with faith, humor, testimonies and so much more. The author shows Biblical reasons for taking authority in our prayers. A real faith-builder as you read of answered prayers and know that God does answer our prayers. Prayer is powerful! This book helped me to see that it is important to use the power we are given, by God, in our prayers.

I highly recommend this book.
I received an ARC (advanced readers copy) from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review rather it be good or bad. Thank you.

Dutch Sheets uses some of his own personal experiences in this devotional to illustrate how what we face in our everyday lives is closely intertwined with the important the messages He has for us. The stories are ones that just about anyone can relate to. They were neither too short nor too long. The author brings the situations that we face into a new light and shows us how much our Heavenly Father loves and looks out for us. Our resposibility, is to just listen and follow and the blessings will come. I enjoyed sharing the time with God with Dutch. He did an awesome job.

Works great as part of a daily devotional. The chapters are a nice length and delve into thoughtful, meaningful topics. I love the slant of building relationship with Christ. It also does a wonderful job of incorporating scripture to back up its points. A read in the morning that will keep you thinking throughout the day.

I am reviewing this book only because I got it free through library thing and feel obliged to do so. That portion which I have read suggests that it could be helpful to certain people at certain times, which I believe is all that it aspires to be. These are devotional meditations on scripture of a very informal kind.

THE SUBJECT:
The Pleasure of His Company by Dutch Sheets is a devotional book dedicated to fostering "simple practices and Biblical mindsets that will help readers delve deeper into the Lord's Presence."

THE SCRIBE:
The author of over 20 books, Dutch Sheets is a renowned teacher an conference speaker who focuses on the topics of Christian development and societal transformation.

THE STYLE:
Sheets favors the use of homespun stories to introduce his point, and then proceeds with an in-depth survey of a particular subject relating to the Christian walk. With 30 short chapters, the book is organized as a series of devotional readings aiming to draw the Christian closer in his or her walk with the Lord.

THE SUBSTANCE:
"Enoch was more than pleasing to God, he was well-pleasing. This hyphenated word isn't used much nowadays. A more contemporary way of describing Enoch's relationship to God would simply be that he brought Him great pleasure. Fascinating, isn't it? What is for us "the pleasure of His company," can become for God "the pleasure of our company." For most, this is an un-heard-of concept. It's one thing to believe God can use us. And believing that our obedience to His laws pleases Him? No problem. But I can't help but wonder how many people realize that their presence can bring pleasure to the Lord." Sheets devotes the rest of the book to revealing this concept to the reader.

THE SPECIFICS:
The first chapter: "The Person." The first word: "Pleasure." From cover to cover, Sheets aims to drive one point home: "Pleasure is not only determined by the things we do, but also by the company we keep," and Sheets reiterates this point throughout his book with short, pithy sayings:
- "[God] is seeking worshippers, not worship."
- "He is captivated by the singer, not the song."
- "He's into love, not liturgy."

THE SCOOP:
Sheets is adept at weaving simple stories from everyday life with principles from the Bible. In particular, he enjoys finding the original Hebrew or Greek word from a passage of Scripture and exegeting the word to produce a fuller picture of a Biblical principle--all with the desire to discover the pleasure of God's company.

This is the first book I've read by Dutch Sheets. It was an easy book to read and follow. I could see how this could be used as a daily devotional but I enjoyed reading it all the way through. His personal stories mixed in with Bible stories and scripture made it enjoyable. I think there always comes a time when we need to seek out more time with Him, this helps put things in perspective and life back in order.

I received 'The Pleasure of His Company' by Dutch Sheets in exchange for a honest review.

I am a Christian and discovered I love to ready books as this one. I like the perspective of another Christian. While I was not familiar with Dutch Sheets before, I found the short essays with very specific topics that focused on our relationship with God very interesting, sometimes thought provoking, while others times I just simply agreed with him.

The author's style was simple but clear and concise, always relating to his own understanding of Christ and God and referring back to Bible verses to back-up the point he wanted to make. Don't expect a scholarly discuss. It's more like having a conversation with a fellow from Bible study. And somethings, that's all we need.

Book Review: The Pleasure of His Company by Dutch Sheets

book-review
A Journey to Intimate Friendship with God. That’s the subtitle to this book. A journey it is. This book is not a step-by-step list of things to do nor is this book a deep theological work, but a journey of sorts. Not traveling from one place to another, but more about who you are traveling with, in this case, God.

I found this book to be a very enjoyable read. I especially enjoyed the author’s genuineness and authenticity. Glimpses of his real humanity shone through. I appreciate his honesty. This much authenticity is rare to find and this case, funny, too.

The author’s conversational writing style was also enjoyable. Given the importance and gravity of the topic he balanced it well with stories and more than a dollop of pleasant humor.

While reading, at some points, worship songs came to my mind. I think he must have been truly drawing me into His company.

Overall I found this book to be extremely encouraging and not the least bit condemning nor judgmental. Most of all each chapter felt like an invitation—an invitation to know God more intimately and the invitation felt just like the way I’ve felt the Holy Spirit do it—with gentle loving nudges. So each chapter felt like a gentle loving nudge from the Holy Spirit towards the Father.

If you would like to experience these invitations for yourself purchase your own copy of this book now. If you don’t enjoy stories and humor and prefer scholarly works, this book probably isn’t for you.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Bethany House Publishers as part of their blogging for books program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commision’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

In 30 chapters, the author leads the reader through various aspects of getting to know God in a personal and meaningful way. Each chapter is short and to the point, well-illustrated with Bible texts, applicable personal anecdotes and excerpts from other writers.

His view of God as a warm and loving father is one which he encourages others to experience through spending time with Him. Initially, I found his casual and contemporary language concerning God a bit off-putting—referring to Him as “Dad” or “Papa” seems a bit irreverent to my traditional way of thought. But I soon came to understand his intention is to simply present God as a totally loving and approachable father figure who is longing for an intimate relationship with his children.

In addition to being very readable, the author offers plenty of thought-provoking insights and observations. Each of these chapters would make a wonderful devotional on its own or would serve as an excellent starting point for further study. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it to anyone interesting in deepening their understanding of and relationship with God.

I enjoyed reading Pleasure of His Company: A Journey to Intimate Friendship With God by Dutch Sheets tremendously. It has 30 fabulous chapters full of ideas to bring you closer to God.

Yes I LOVE the idea of God being the life of the Heaven's Party and dancing at the return of a lost soul.
I too want Jesus to be my friend and walk with me daily, sharing in the good and the bad. Laughing and crying along me.

This book will help you get to know the Lord on a more intimate level. In this fast paced world we live in we need to take time to slow down and hear what God has to say. The author gives you ideas on how to do this and steps to set up your own place to meet with God. Several bible verses are mentioned to help you in this journey to get closer.

Also some humor thrown in, which is always good. I would like to add that I too like tomato and mayonnaise sandwiches, yes it is a southern thing.

On a more serious note if you too would like a more intimate walk with God I definitely recommend this book. Watch for it will be available January 2014!

I received an advanced copy of this in exchange for my review rather it be good or bad.
