The Cyclops tale from Homer's epic, "The Odyssey," is accurately retold in "The Adventures of Odysseus." The author provides seven sources in the Bibliography - typically only a brief author's note with a short discussion about the origin of a folktale is provided. The language and content of the story makes the plot and setting easy to follow for readers ages 7-10; the storyline is simple, yet rich with details such as the Cyclops', "tusk-like teeth," and "snout of the nose," and a graphic description of one of Odysseus men being smacked against the roof of the Cyclops' cave and eaten by the Cyclops.
