Wonky sense of humor that charmingly teaches kids not to follow the crowd. A Bellwether(#conniewillis) for kids if you will.

This poetic book for very young children carries the message that no matter how differently we may appear from one another, we live in the same world and see the same colors and stars all around us.

The narrator asks, for example, “When the sun gazes down, shining yellow and bold. Is it warm? Full of sparkle? Is your gold . . . like my gold?” It ends with, “We look at each other every day. You and me. Do we see the same things? So I see what you see?”

Collage illustrations by Heidi Woodward Sheffield employ a gorgeous palette and show a very diverse group of children from all over the world to help make the point of the author.

Other reviews have mentioned that the text is small, but it is a book that calls for an adult reader in any event, and in fact would make for a great selection for a library reading for children.
