The exhibit offers a complete panorama of the work of the artist - the largest exhibition ever organized in a Latin American museum devoted to the artwork of Andy Warhol (b. USA 1928-1987), "the most American of American artists" and defined as the quintessence of American pop culture: celebrity, glamour, and sex. The exhibition organized in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh and curated by Philip Larratt-Smith, explores all aspects and periods from his multifaceted production, with a articular emphasis in the period between 1961 and 1968. The exhibit comprised 26 paintings, 57 silk screens, 39 photographs and 2 installations ('Silver Clouds' and 'Cow wallpaper'), and included his series of acrylic serigraphy prints of iconic figures like Jacqueline Kennedy, Marlyn Monroe and Mao Tse-Tung and the haunting 1986 self-portrait, produced just months before his death.
