This book introduces all different types of nocies that happen in the city, from honking horns to subways roaring all day. This book is great for students to get familar with different noises that go on every single day in a city. A great book to talk about setting and talk about the location and how living in a city is different ( ) The brief picture book story begins with a young boy waking, "Alarm clock ringing, eardrums stinging...Ting-A-Ling-A-Ling. Noises incidinces happen in the city, Then the boy is home with both parents at the dinner table and "Red sun sinking, Streetlights blinking. Finally it is darkness and the moon rises over the bridge.
In spare, elegant illustrations, the city is seen on many levels — underground, street and elevated — with the boy moving through a forest no less mysterious than the jungle room of Maurice Sendak. Notable Lists
From morning until night, a city is filled with such sounds as the roars and snores of a subway ride, the flutters and coos of pigeons, and the shouts and beeps of drivers in traffic. Ingen biblioteksbeskrivelser fundet. |
