Determined to help others suffering from his friend's illness, he rejects joining his father's pediatrics practice and instead trains as a nephrologist and a transplant surgeon. Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse Tammy Johansen is on duty when an infant must undergo a life-saving transplant. Working closely with famed surgeon Dr. Alejandro Alvarez, she sees the sensitive, lonely man beneath his professional exterior and wonders can such a man be interested in someone like her? I found this a quick read, but an excellent story. It was wonderful reading Alejandro's story about his first love and this makes the next book in the series so much more meaningful as you understand what he has lost. ( )

Life's Forever Changed (The Show Me Series: Prequel) Anne Stone
An Anne Stone novel is like an out of body experience.  Hard to be ready for, but prolific all the same.  Life's Forever Changed is evidence of that.  Time flies by as Tammy and Alejandro illicit the feels of an unforgettable and emotional journey.  Ms. Stone examines love, life and loss through the eyes of caring people and the hearts of every man.  A romantic tale with a deeper message has begun.  It's the insight that makes us better and this tale of hope sets out to do that on a smaller scale, but with grandiose results.
