This is a difficult book to review.
Leo and Ella.
I don't usually read cheating books, I do sometimes read book where the couple are working on reconciliation.
This book starts with Ella feeling and being neglected and Leo supposedly ignoring the issues, refusing to recognise or discuss there is a problem.
She is intimate with another man, intimate enough that to me it is cheating.
Leo in the first part of the book comes across as neglectful of his wife and due to his refusal to discuss anything with Ella you sort of feel she should move on. I think that's the point move on, not cheat.
When we finally see what's going on with Leo it's heartbreaking.
I am not sure if I was Leo I could have trusted her again.

What would you do if the person who you loved suddenly became a stranger without warning? No amount of pleading seemed to make a difference. Even threats of divorce or an affair didn't seem to break though to the person you married. I would like to think that I would fight for what it once was. Yet, there comes a time that you finally have to acknowledge that it might be to late to repair.

Having experienced cheating firsthand, I know how hard it is. I was apprehensive about this book. I didn't need to be. It was not the typical cheating type book. It was painful. It was poignant. It was artfully portrayed.

The bombshell of why the sudden alienation of Leo from Dahlia was heartbreaking. It is a reminder under that acts like this can happen to anyone and its traumatic for a plethora of reasons. I loved both of these characters as they rediscovered each other and learned how to trust again.

I'm not going to lie and say that I hated Jared. I really liked him and hope he someday gets his own story.

This was a first book written by this author and I loved it. ( )
