Brock is a one and done kind of guy and even though he's lusted after Lyndie since he met her he hasn't gone there. Lyndie was abused by her father and then her husband, when she frist met Brock the attraction was there but her residual fears wouldn't allow her to go there. They both have PTSD and had crappy parents that makes it amazing that these two can let down their protections to accept being loved. Brock needs a wife to inherit and Lyndie wants a child, they agree to a temporary marriage, both believing they will hold themselves apart to keep from getting hurt but enjoy the lusty perks. I love how Brock decides to go all in on their temporary marriage, even while telling himself they only have a month or two. ( )
Strength lies in allowing ourselves to be vulnerable. There in lies the beauty of The Original Heartbreakers. These towering pillars of testosterone know what it means to protect the weak, but do they understand what it means to risk their hearts. Can't Get Enough is more than just a playboy bachelor with a grudge. Lyndie and Brock's battle is in finding the courage to face life's heartaches with courage and hope. In that aspect Lyndie has more strength in her little figure, than Brock has trust in his heart. Getting lost in Ms. Showalter's stories is never a problem. In the end the cause justifies the means.
