Rachel mistakenly chews out a man in a bar where she works for lying to her best friend. Wrong man! Starting her new job the next day she walks in to find the man (Caine) from the night before as her new boss. Sparks fly and past and present secrets make for a wary romance. Delving into each character's baggage and working through a relationship makes for a satisfying book. I don't want to say too much as to spoil anything. ( ) Interesting twist of fate romance where Rachel and Cain wind up meeting by chance several times with very different results. They have a meet-cute in a bar where Rachel chews him out for dumping her best friend (of course he’s the wrong guy) only to discover the next day they might be spending quite a bit of time together! But it’s the other timeline the story is told on that really adds a layer of depth and sadness, as Rachel and Cain drift closer to one another, and yet may be pulled apart. Trigger Warning: Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. 4 stars I always love it when an author throws a twist into the story that I didn't see coming. That was the case with this book. I was trying to figure out how the backstory with Caine fit into things with Rachel. I got my answer and then some. This author is a fantastic writer at creating likeable characters, setting the scene, and keeping me engrossed in the story. I do wish a few areas had been fleshed out but this was still good. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
A new sexy standalone novel from #1 New York Timesbestselling author, Vi Keeland. The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straightâ??telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done. Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant. Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy. Oops. My mistake. Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology. I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right? That's what I thought...until I walked into class the next morning. Well, hello Professor West, I'm your new teaching assistant. I'll be working under you...figuratively speaking. Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thingâ??working under Professor West. This was going to be interest No library descriptions found. |
