Lilah Appleton's prospects are looking dim. With one last chance to find a titled husband before she's forced to wed her wretched cousin, she must make this Season count. Plain, forgettable Lilah must become the Season's Original. Desperate, she seeks help from the devilishly charming, untitled, and thoroughly unsuitable Jack Marlowe. When he meets Lilah, he expects her to be like all the other greedy husband-hunters. But she's far more dangerous. Her alluring smiles and sharp tongue intrigue him. Before he knows it, he agrees to help her find a husband, revealing tricks to ensnare any man. The only problem is, his plan works too well-on him. I liked this! It’s sweet and pretty low angst. Liked the wallflower heroine finding a man who really saw her. (3.5 stars) ( )

Every woman loves the bad boy. He may be a jerk but the air of danger and his swoon worthy sex appeal keeps us coming back for more. Vivienne Lorret got it right with Jack. He's the guy no woman should like but despite it all finds hard to resist. I received an ARC of The Debutante is Mine in exchange for an honest review. Ms. Lorret has written a classic romance that is hard to resist. I have already read this story twice and find it just as intoxicating. Lilah and Jack are fire and ice. She has the heart and sweetness that he lacks. Yet they blend well together because first impressions prove to be deceiving. These two share common traits in so many ways but bring out the best in each other. Beautiful.

This is Vivienne Lorret's first book in the Season's Originals and it was one of those stories that moved at a nice pace and in which the couple was likable and interesting. I thought the plot was plausible and it moved the story forward and it had me vested in their story.

Let me address this "historical inaccuracy" that everyone is talking about at the end of the story. I honestly didn't even notice it as I was reading the story, and even when it was brought to my attention, I didn't care because in the end, this is a fiction. I'm willing to suspend my imagination and allow that discrepancy. As long as I cared for these two, everything else is okay with me.

I'm looking forward to the second book and recommend this one highly.

I'm super excited to be reading a new Vivienne Lorret book, I have always found her books interesting and exciting and The Debutante Is Mine is no exception! Let me tell you about the book.

Lilah Appleton is now 23 years old and is still unwed…she is now left with two decisions in accordance with her fathers will; either find a titled Lord to marry by the end of the season or be stuck marring her vile cousin Winthrop. But Lilah has been labeled by the Ton as forgettable and plain, especially when in the company of her beautiful cousin. But everything is to change when she meets Jack Marlowe; the one man that she can never have!

Jack Marlowe is the illegitimate son of the Earl of Dovermere; a man he didn't meet till he was 10 years old and the very next day Jack was sent to Eton. Now Jack is one of the wealthiest business men in the kingdom, but is still looked down upon by the Ton as lacking.

But fate would bring these two damaged souls together and even though it was not love (or even like) at first sight, the spark of passion was started that day. But then choices were taken from Lilah hands, when her cousin Winthrop decides to have their banns read before the end of the season! Can anything be done to stop this madness!

Yet again Vivienne Lorret knows it out of the park with The Debutante Is Mine! I absolutely loved Jack and Lilah! I loved their feisty word sparing at when they first meet! I also love that Jack is all of Lilah's first, that really warmed my heart. I love Lilah's description of Jack's "war" horse. I found it absolutely hysterical when Jack is in the Ton and everyone suddenly changes their opinions of Jack when they remember how much money he has! It really shows their true colors. Honestly there are SO many things about this book I truly loved and could quite honestly go oh FOR HOURS about how much I love this story, but honestly nothing warmed my heart more than the interaction between Jack and his sisters! It truly made me cry.

As I have come to expect with this author, the writing is superb, the story is excellent and the characters are truly a joy to read about!

I give The Debutante Is Mine a very well deserved 5 stars! It truly is a wonderful start to a new series!
