The book talks about how you wont find animals doing these things but that it is easy to imagine it if only you close your eyes. Personal Reaction: I loved this story. It would be very fun for children to read and see the silly pictures. Classroom extension Ideas: After reading this book to my class I could give them a short book that has words at the top of each page saying "you won't find a elephant _____" and have each student fill in the blank with a human activity that an animal could not do. and draw a picture to go with the words they have chosen. The next page may sound something like "you won't find a zebra _____ "and so on. Or I could have my students write a paper about what the world would be like if animals could do what they did. This book is a perfect read aloud for k-2 students, because the illustrations and the words are highly entertaining. The books illustrations are very detailed and it makes the book even better. On the fourth page, their are pigs dressed up as pirates and the sign for the play says, The pigs of Penzance, and if you know the play Pirates of Penzance, then you will find the joke funny, which I did. The illustrations are also silly, for example their is a goat shaving his beard, and for k-2 students, I know they would find that picture very funny. Not only are the illustrations perfect for children, but the book has very few words and is easy to comprehend for young students. The book also rhymes which makes the book easier to follow for young students, becuase they hear a pattern in the text. The book is also an easy read aloud, because you can come up with easy questions, for example, in the book it says, "Rabbits don't sunbathe at your local beach," and you can ask the students, "Have you ever seen a rabbit sunbathing at your local beach?" This question would have the students engaged and having fun. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
