4.5 stars. I really loved this book and flew through it so quickly. I knew I would like this book but I didn't expect it to become one of my favorites and it did. From the very 1st chapter it grabbed my attention and I couldn't put the book down (I hated that I had to stop reading for a while when I went to work). This book immediately draws you into the world. There's a lot of emotions that are brought up; at times I felt bad for Davy and wished I could be by her side helping her, you get feelings of frustration and helplessness and wonder how could the world get this bad? But in honesty, it's not that far fetched of an idea; people will do anything to try to maintain control and feel safe. I loved the characters, Sean, Davy, Gil, they're all great and I really loved Mitchell (Davy's brother). When everyone else turned on Davy, her friends and boyfriend and even her own mother, Mitchell was the one who never looked at Davy any differently. He was the only one who still saw her the same way and who believed that no matter what a stupid DNA test says he knew she wasn't a killer. I also love that he wrote letters to her while she was at the training center but I'm mad that they never gave her his letters. I really don't like Davy's old friends, they were never truly her friends and her mom is even worse. How do you turn on your own daughter like that? Overall, this was a great book and it definitely passed my expectations. ( )

I wanted to like this book. I wanted to love this book SO MUCH. I cannot even explain how much, because I loved Jordan's Firelight series before this one and it was a high favorite for three years. And this one was great, amazingly, breathlessly great and I wanted everyone in the world to read it with, up until so very suddenly the love interest moved past the middle of the book in the most cliche, hand-waved, not-possible way in this kind of situation.

It was a hard lump to take on a book I was rating a hard 4.5 until that moment, and then the book continued to go quickly down hill. I spent most of this book holding on fiercely tight, wearing it would get better, as it only got more and more convenient, and no one ever referenced history, and impossible things happened or were never considered or noticed and by the end I was just exhausted and glad to be done.

Unless the second book ricochet's on some of my follower's review, I won't be continuing this series. ( )

So far, I think that Uninvited is my favorite 2014 dystopian/sci-fi read. I really enjoyed Sophie Jordan's other YA series, Firelight, so when I heard about Uninvited I was just like:

When I finally got the book in my oh so grabby hands and started it, I couldn't put it down. I'm pretty sure that I looked exactly like this baby while reading it:

I have never used gifs in my reviews before, but because I don't even have words to form a coherent review about my love for this book, I thought the gifs would portray my feelings pretty fairly. I'm not even going to attempt to say anything else, because I would just end up majorly fangirling.

Things I loved:
The characters
The plot
The suspense
The overall uniqueness and wonderfulness
Pretty much the whole book

Things I do not like:
Having to wait for the next book.

I need it!

A quick read and an absolutely compelling story which kind of reminded me of When She Woke by Hilary Jordan. I keep seeing everyone compare this to Minority Report but I have no idea what that is so...

Anyway, great narration, loved the writing, characters, and story.

Needles freak me out though and this is the second book this week that I've read that has graphic scenes containing needles. I really need to read something light and fluffy.

Full review soon.
