Welcome to the brutal and elite world of Basgiath War College, where everyone has an agenda, and every night could be your last . . . Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general - also known as her tough-as-talons mother - has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you're smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away . . . because dragons don't bond to 'fragile' humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother's daughter - like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant. She'll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise. Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret. Alliances will be forged. Lives will be lost. Traitors will become allies . . . or even lovers. But sleep with one eye open because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.… (mere)

It is well written. It is a page turner. Although a little predictable there are definitely twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Not great literature but a fun book and I would recommend. ( )

Well, one has to read it when there is so much hype ;)
It was OK but am not sure why it seems to have reached so many readers. I enjoyed it but I was never "I can't wait to find out what happens". I liked the dragons and the characterisation was pretty solid as was the plot particularly towards the end. But I didn't think it was the best thing since sliced bread. ( )

fanculo!! ( )

An Unforgettable Journey into the Skies – A Five-Star Marvel!

It’s been a delight to delve into Rebecca Yarros’s enthralling universe of Fourth Wing lately, and I have to admit that it’s nothing short of an amazing work of fantasy. Yarros takes readers on an incredible trip full of romance, mystery, and heart-stopping moments that left me speechless from the first to the last page.

Fourth Wing ♦ Rebecca Yarros

Opinion

Each of the brilliantly conceived characters in Fourth Wing has a distinct personality that captivates you and makes you feel as though you’re a part of their universe. Throughout the protagonist’s path of self-discovery and resiliency, I couldn’t help but root for Violet. Yarros possesses an amazing talent for crafting characters that are authentic, imperfect, and wholly human.

The storyline is a masterfully constructed emotional rollercoaster that will keep you gripping the edge of your seat. The dragon context gives an intriguing and distinctive element to the narrative, providing a novel viewpoint that distinguishes Fourth Wing from other works in the genre. Impressive attention to detail is used to describe the world of dragons, and it is obvious that Yarros did her homework to ensure originality on every page.

This book has an absolutely captivating romance. The slow-burning build-up and the obvious chemistry between the characters, Violet and Xaden, had me flipping the pages to see how their enemies-to-lovers relationship would develop. Yarros masterfully combines vulnerability and passion to create a love narrative that will stick with readers long after they’ve put the book down.

The writing style of Yarros is what really makes Fourth Wing unique. Her writing is smooth and expressive, conjuring up clear images of the settings and feelings experienced by the reader. The characters have a natural and crisp banter that makes them seem like old friends. With her storytelling skills so evident, it’s no surprise that Yarros has emerged as a prominent figure in modern fiction.

Conclusion

To sum up, Fourth Wing is an essential book for everybody looking for an exhilarating, deeply impactful experience of fantasy. A story that reaches new heights and leaves an imprint on readers‘ hearts is masterfully produced by Rebecca Yarros. I firmly believe that this book is a genuine gem and award it a well-earned five stars. Well done, Rebecca Yarros, for telling a tale that will stay with me for a very long time!
