Oplysninger fra den engelske Almen Viden Redigér teksten, så den bliver dansk. Here was the secret history. Because if the bear represents Korean women - or a version of womanhood that means suffering and silent endurance - what, then, of the tiger? What about the woman who refused to suffer and was banished for it? What would happen if she came back? What would she want - and what story would she tell? (Author's Note) She's turned slightly away from me, body curled around a half-full mug of coffee. The steam dances and floats up to kiss her face, but she doesn't notice. And I don't know what, exactly, she sees when she looks at me, but I know she sees me - which feels nice and also a little itchy. The superpower of invisible girls is to hide, to disappear. To stay out of trouble. That's what I'm good at. Story magic is powerful, powerful enough to change someone. And when a story is locked away, its magic only grows. Sometimes it grows sour. The magic becomes a kind of poison. "I think that's how you figure out who you are," Ricky says. "You do new, brave things, and you find out who you is in not-you situations. Take your history, understand where you came from and who you are - then find your own story. Create the story of who you are yet to be. (p. 268) The seconds swell. I take a breath. There are so many endings to choose from. And I find mine. So the sisters began to speak. They told stories of their halmoni, who always wore sequins, and always saw her granddaughters. Who risked everything for happiness, and did anything to protect her family. Who believe in invisible things - like spirits and magic and love. The girls talked about their halmoni, who'd taught them to see the world, and to see themselves. As they spoke, they filled the sky with stars. The sisters lit the world. And in the light, they found their way back home. In the light, they saw: They were not alone. | |

I think that this is a great book for intermediate students and one that would create many opportunities for students to stretch their creating thinking through discussions.
