Een fantasievol idee. Je snapt al hoe deze dieren er komen. :) En dan mag Willem een taak uitvoeren om van de straat die er wat verlaten uitzag tot een vrolijke ontmoetingsplek te maken. Ik ben wel nieuwsgierig welke bomen het zijn. Het is dan wel fantasie, ik wil dan wel bedenken hoe dicht je met de realiteit erbij kunt komen. Er zijn takken afgezaagd. De cover lijkt een beuk, daar gaan we al... dan iig de kale stam te kort. Binnen in het boek zijn er nog andere soorten. Als er vogels getekend worden zijn het de echt voorkomende in Noord-VS: cardinal, blue jay en die waarvan ik de naam vergat. Kleuren consequent: groen, lichtbruin en wat bonte pagina's in zachte oude kleuren.. ( )

What a gorgeous book! I love the idea that small, individual actions can have a big impact on other people--even a whole community. The artwork is beautiful, and kids will enjoy poring over each spread and all the little details. It will probably inspire many kids to learn more about topiary, too!

This is such a sweet story! My kids love the concept and the creative shapes of the bushes. The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is simple enough for my littles (5yo & 3yo) to grasp, yet profound enough for even an adult to appreciate. We recommend this book! ( )
