Thankfully a bit different than the last two, and it's a quick and fun romp once again. ( )

Aaaaah, I love this series. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I just can't get enough of Stephanie's crazy antics, Grandma Mazur's quips, and Lula's larger-than-life personality. And the men, of course. Ranger and Morelli are both intriguing in their own rights, and I'm always eager to see who Stephanie picks in each instalment.

I loved the eighth book in the series. The bad guys have been getting nastier, and the crimes grittier, which I'm definitely not complaining about. The writing is on point, and the humour top notch. I had a bunch of laugh-out-loud moments... one in particular (involving a mishap with a laundry dryer) had me laughing so hard I was in tears, and I had to read that particular page aloud to my husband.

My only slight complaint is about the ending... I would have liked Stephanie to play a larger role in dealing with the villain. But that's a minor grumble.

I can't wait to get my hands on the next book! ( )

Ancora un'altra avventura per la nostra Stephanie Plum: questa volta deve ritrovare una madre e una figlia per fare un favore alla vicina di casa dei suoi. E questa volta ne passerà davvero di tutti i colori.

Innanzi tutto si ritrova ad avere a che fare con Jeanne Ellen, una Ranger in gonnella che assomiglia a Catwoman senza orecchie da gatta ed è capace di qualunque trucchetto e sotterfugio. Si vocifera pure che Ranger le abbia insegnato tutto quello che sa e che abbiano pure avuto una storia (magari nella Bat-caverna, chissà...). Stephanie... be', ragazzi, lei è ancora all'inizio della sua istruzione (se così si può chiamare)...

Poi sarà inseguita da un coniglio cattivo, pronto a giocargli brutti tiri e al soldo di Eddie Abruzzi, psicopatico criminale sadico e amante dei giochi di guerra (adora Napoleone...).

Conoscerà il logorroico avvocato Albert Kloughn, in cerca di clienti e di avventure come cacciatore di taglie. Alla fine rimedierà solo una segretaria: Valerie, la sorella di Stephanie, depressa perché non riesce a trovare un lavoro (e un marito che la mantenga).

Sarà ancora in bilico tra Ranger e Morelli, solo che... Ranger si alza e se ne va. Morelli invece non riesce a lasciarla in pace (o almeno ad andare a controllare che sia ancora tutta intera dopo ogni giornata).

E infine, Stephanie dovrà vedersela con la porta di casa sua. Dopo che Ranger le avrà fatto installare una sofisticatissima porta antifurto, non ci sarà più verso per lei di entrare in casa... ( )

When a neighbor asks for Stephanie's help, she of course agrees. Once again only to get in way over her head.
It's a simple case, find Evelyn Soder and her daughter, Annie. Not as easy as it seems. Stephanie has to deal with mobster, Eddie Abruzzi, who rents to Evelyn. Also Steven Soder, the father of Annie. And believe it or not, Stephanie is being chased by a giant bunny.
She also has to avoid Joe and Ranger, who both want to lock her up to protect her from Abuzzi.
Stephanie may not be very smart or good at the job, but she does get lucky. She also has a no quit attitude. She goes the long difficult route but somehow comes out on top. ( )
