I usually enjoy books based in England, but this was kind of a throw-back to the 60's-70's. It was...well, weird. It was difficult to get into, the characters were not in-depth enough to keep theirs names straight, the premise was a bit weak, the motive for the obvious murder was unbelievable. It was superficial - with WAY more characters than necessary - most of whom you meet casually and never need to see again. I suppose they pop up now and then to add to the suspect list, but frankly most have little to no interaction with the dead person, therefore the likelihood any of them would be the killer is minimal. I am usually very generous with my reviews because there is something in literature for any taste but I don't know about this one....it would likely have been better if I had read the first 2 books in the series - at least I would have had better luck remembering which detective was which - but as for the other characters - I believe most (aside from the Voice, which, having a capitalized name suggested he/she may have been previously introduced) I think most of the characters were new for this particular adventures...all in all....good luck reader!
