This story has such great colors and pictures that it will be able to grab the attention of any preschool aged child. This story is a great way to introduce young readers to the chameleon and how they are different that any other animal. This story allows the student to understand how a chameleon changes to the color of whatever it is around allowing for the introduction of camouflaging. It is also a great way to teach children about friendships as the chameleon early is said that he doesn’t have one specific color of his own however later in the story learns it is better to be yourself and that true friends will always accept you for who you are.
