This book was cute and I felt like it was taking a different turn for what kids would most likely feel if they were going to a big boy bed. Typically you would expect a young child to maybe be nervous or scared, but this book showed that it can be exciting. You get a new quilt, you can fit all your stuffed animals on the bed, its big, you can bounce high. This shows kids that it isn't so scary to sleep alone and if you have a little sibling, they get to have the crib and you can tell them goodnight. ( )

In this book the little boy has out grown his crib and is moving into a big boys bed. He is learning that he can still have his favorite things with him when he goes to bed at night. This book can be categorized as a personality development book due to the little boy learning about the step in growing up and that a good experience with sleeping in his new bed can help develop his self-worth, independence, self-concept, and transitioning into a new bed. He learns that the normal bedtime routine doesn't change, only where he sleeps at night.
Age: 3-5 years old
