Indlæser... Purity of Heart Is To Will One Thing : Spiritual Preparation for the…af Søren Kierkegaard
![]() Der er ingen diskussionstråde på Snak om denne bog. A talk towards Confession. ( ![]() This is a great book for Christian self-examination, dedicated by the author and recommended by this reviewer to "that solitary individual" who desires to commit himself to One Thing and guard himself against double-mindedness, hypocrisy and mediocrity. Like Socrates, his role model, Kierkegaard excels, not so much in establishing the true religious or philosophical belief, as in distinguishing falsehood from truth, thereby prompting the reader to reflect and re-examine his own beliefs and practices. In his books, Kierkegaard not only gives an incisive diagnosis of the human condition, but also makes confessions about himself, his sufferings and struggles. Reading his books is almost like getting to know the author, even to the extent that the reader might feel an affinity for him. Edifications or lay sermons about choosing good without conditions. Not the faith of Abraham or Job; not the individual in romantic quandary; this is confession. Purity is worthy of repeat readings. Profound meditations by an original religious thinker. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Father in heaven! What is a man without Thee! What is all that he knows, vast accumulation though it be, but a chipped fragment if he does not know Thee! What is all his striving, could it even encompass a world, but a half-finished work if he does not know Thee: Thee the One, who art one thing and who art all! No library descriptions found. |
