A very bright young boy begins the task of creating inventions that enlighten his home and community. Henry, like so many other children, is born with penchant for discovery and invention. The story gave a basic terse and simple example for determination and persistence when you are against all odds. The illustrations were muddled a bit and the story reaffirmed the same ideal throughout with very little variations in the reasons why everyone wanted to him to keep discovering. It could be a very inspirational and reflective read for those children who have the motivational heart but lack the patience. ( ) As an infant Henry starts building a machine. Henry gets older the machine he is building starts to take over his house. His parents have to pitch a tent outside because Henry has made the machine so big. After Henry takes over the whole house with the machine he cob=continues to build the machine in the backyard. His parents keep asking him what the machine does and Henry keeps replying with I haven't a clue. His machine buildings got so big it forced his parents to live in a tree house. The whole city started coming by in small groups to see what was being built. His parents wanted their house back so they told Henry his machine need to go but they were very proud of him. The next day he took down his buildings and everyone that had gathered left as well. Henry went for a walk and saw Mr. Barnaby putting a closed sign up on the carnival entrance. Mr. Barnaby said he didn't know what else to do because no one came to his carnival anymore. That's when Henry had a bright idea to have the mailman send out special invitations to everyone to come to the carnival gates. Once they were at the carnival gates people could see all the new machines Henry had built. This is a good example of fantasy because Henry is a special character where he was born able to invent at such a young age and can build a carnival in a day. I think the media used in this book was pencil and paint. Age primary ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
