The Princess Pigtoria and the Pea is a cute and fun twist on the classic story of the princess and the pea. First of all this book emphasizes a lot on the letter "P" which I love. Even though she is looking for her prince charming she falls in love with the pizza guy. This book is not only engaging, but it is funny and I know younger readers will love this fairy tale. Even though the princess didn't end up with her dream prince her and the pizza boy had a great life selling pizzas together. Pricess Pigtoria and The Pea by Pamela Duncan Edwards and illustrated by Henry Cole is a fun, vobulary enriched spin off of the Princess and the Pea fairytale. Children will enjoyed the story line and also learn new words while reading. To add even more excitement there is a twist at the end that students probably won't see coming. You will for sure enjoy this book and hopefully it will become a favorite to read. Summary: This book is about a pig named Princess Pigtoria that is going to meet a prince so he can make her castle beautiful again. The prince was looking for a polite princess so he hid a pea under her pillows to see if she would notice. Princess Pigtoria ended up falling in love with the pizza delivery pig. This book uses different "P" words throughout to describe the princesses journey. Personal Reaction: I love pigs so I really enjoyed this book. This book brought new vocabulary in a fun way. I also love fairy tale books so it would be interesting to take the original Princess and the Pea story and find the similarities between the two. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1. For a grade such as Kindergarten, this book could be used introduce the letter "P". They students could then do a paper or color a picture about the letter "P". 2. For older students, they could be given a specific letter in the alphabet and see if they could write a story using that letter as many times as they can. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Personal reflection: I think this book was extremely cute and had a nice spin on a classic. This helps illustrate that stories that seem outdated can still relate and I really liked the message the book sends.
Class use: I would use this to teach students how to alter classics to fit modern times and their own personal experiences ( )
