Like watching "The Muppet Show" but reading the episodes in a comic-book format. In this case, each episode focuses on an issue of one of the main Muppets: Kermit's longing for home wherever that is, Fozzie trying to find his humor niche, everyone wondering what Gonzo is. Includes the show's famous skits such as Pigs in Space and Veterinarian's Hospital, plus the cranky Statler and Waldorf. And always there is some wacky drama unfolding backstage. Much fun for Muppet fans. ( ) The Muppet Show returns to public consumption in this format change that is amazingly close in feel to the 1970s television show. Muppet Show fans will be thrilled to see familiar faces and features in this comic-- with segments like "Pigs In Space" and "Veterinarian's Hospital" and the whole Muppet gang including some of the more obscure characters like Beauregard and Lou and his Boomerang Fish. Though the nostalgia will be enough to please adult fans, it's likely that the children for whom the comic is marketed will find more to desire. The pun-heavy jokes and song-style segments without music are unlikely to win over most young readers. Not recommended, due to the lack of a natural audience fit. I liked this Muppet Show book a lot better than I did Muppet Peter Pan. This book is broken into several segments - each one a whole tv episode based on one character. It has all of the characters we love, including a segment on Gonzo, Kermit and Miss Piggy. Each one has the trademark Muppet Show humor, and the segments break the book into manageable "chapters". For fans of the show, this book will be very familiar - in fact both of the girls wanted to look at it since they've been watching the show. Very funny and easy to read.
Of course, all this success is due to Langridge’s art. The Muppets look like people and like puppets at the same time. He illustrates the attitudes and gestures that make each character unique while still drawing them in keeping with their “real life” appearance. Indeholdt i
