Summary: This book is a small glimpse into what the Jamaican culture is like. Go on an adventure with Molly Mac and her parrot Kakadu Jack as they go to the market. They have a great time gathering a variety of fruits that are unique it Jamaica. That parrot sure can be a handful.

Personal Reaction: First of all I love the size of this book. It is about 2ft x 3ft. It is positive that a classroom audience will be able to see the vivid pictures bouncing off of the pages. I love all of the color that the Illustrator decided to use. It really captures the tropical perspective of Jamaica!

Classroom Extension: This book would be great to inspire children in a unit on nutrition. A teacher can introduce various fruits with the help of little Miss Molly. The cool part is that it is a child who is excited about the healthy food in the book. This sets a good example for the other children and will hopefully inspire the children to try new fruit. Another classroom extension idea could be using this book to teach a unit on various cultures. This could be a great introduction to the culture of Jamaica!
