I'm perfectly willing to shell out a large amount of money for a good cookbook when it is as well-written and intriguing as this one. In addition to amazing recipes from Philadelphia's City Tavern, the numerous prefaces and introductions on the history of City Tavern, 18th-c Philadelphian gastronomy, and other such topics make this a wonderful cookbook just to sit and read. ( )
