Mama recounts how she yearned and waited for Little Fox until he found her and made her the happiest mom in the world. I liked this book for two reasons. First, I liked the writing of the story. The story was very organized and engaging. The plot of the story was very cute and interesting for readers. For example, the mother was explaining to the baby fox how she felt when he was born and came home to her. I liked how she explained what she was seeing and what she was hearing that made her excited for the baby’s arrival. I also liked how the story flowed at a good pace and that the mama fox repeated “God would find us you” many times to emphasize its importance. A second thing I liked about this book was the illustrations. The pictures were very detailed and helped to fit with the mood of the story. For example, when the mother was looking for her baby, the illustrations give her a straight, focused face, where she is not smiling. Also, when the mama is shown with the baby fox she looks happy and grateful to be with her baby. Overall, the big idea of the story is being thankful for your loved ones. Mama fox explains how long she waited for baby fox and repeats that she is happy that god found baby fox for her. Lisa Tawn Bergren writes the perfect book for a child who has had the blessing of being adopted. Mother Fox tells the wonderful story of how God Found Us You. She captures the difficulty of waiting for your baby when the waiting is difficult and the sheer joy of being an adoptive parent. It is a must have for any adoptive family who wants to celebrate God's gift of adoption. NCLA Review - This delightfully illustrated story of Little Fox and his Mama Fox deals with the subject of adoption in a very loving way. Little Fox wants his Momma to tell him again, once more, the story of how God brought him to his new home and his new Momma. His adoptive mother tells him how she waited for such a long time and just knew God would grant her wish. When Little Fox asks about his birth mother, Momma Fox tells him that “she must have had very big reasons to give you up. She must have thought it was best for you.” The love and sensitivity is comparable to the “Little Bear” stories by Elsa Minarik. Preschool- 2nd grade.
