A book encouraging Christians to pray and showing how important prayer is to Christian life. How prayer helps us through all trials in our daily life. ( ) A Praying Life reminds us that prayer is about communion and conversation with God. This book offers a myriad of helpful tips on how to make prayer a priority in our lives, from journaling our prayers to using prayer cards and more. It is a highly beneficial read for those wanting to grow in living a life of prayer in relationship with God. To be fair, it may be more my issue than the book's that I found it somewhat boring and uninspiring. Too much hype, perhaps? As a critical thinking Arminian, I may not be the intended audience for this book. Two things I appreciated about this book deserve mention: 1) I discovered about myself that I prefer books about spiritual discipline to engage my heart more than my mind. My mind will be engaged regardless. If you are like me in that regard, this book seemed much more explanatory (and therefore not primarily heart-engaging) than inspirational, for lack of a better word. 2) As far as practical application goes, I think the note card system he advocates is fantastic. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
