The reopening of Emily Townsend’s new Bed and Breakfast, where an unsolved murder took place 15 years ago, is bringing unwanted publicity to the small town of Paradise. This cozy little town isn’t all it appears to be since it seems many of the townsfolk are harboring some deep dark secrets. And then there’s the handsome new stranger who just rode into town on his motorcycle, who just happens to look a lot like the alleged murderer from all those years ago. Emily is trying to solve the long-ago murder before she gets herself killed, and she’s teaming up with an unlikely partner, the newly arrived handsome stranger in town, Matthew Steele.

This was a thoroughly entertaining romantic suspense story. It had such an interesting cast of characters who really brought the town to life with so many potential suspects among them. I enjoyed the small-town setting. The story took place in the season of autumn so there were wonderful descriptions of the beautifully colored leaves and the cool crisp air, and it made the story so much more atmospheric. A super-fun story and extremely enjoyable read. ( )

This book is part of the Safe Haven Collection from eHARLEQUIN. I recognized Amanda Stevens from reading THE DOLLMAKER - a great book if you haven’t read it. I love this author’s style of writing.

The only complaint I have is in the believability department. With STRANGER IN PARADISE, I didn't believe the part about who Jenny and Wade really were. In real life, that wouldn't happen. Okay, and maybe the book was a bit hokey. Hokey isn't always a bad thing, is it?

Other than that, I love the plot, characters, etc. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
