Historical/paranormal combo stories with a huge environmental bent. Perhaps not the best of class but solid. I’ll be reading a number of her works. ( ) Trained for early childhood to sacrifice everything for his people and his grandfather's goals, Braden Forster, Earl of Greyburn is baffled and dismayed to discover that a young orphan's appeal may be enough to make him doubt himself. I could not bring myself to finish this book. Not sure exactly why, it just didn't appeal. Braden is a werewolf who has been groomed by his grandfather to take over The Cause. Determined to reaffirm the werewolf's place in the world The Cause is the arranged marriages and breeding between pureblood wolves. Braden's own place as leader of the cause is his sole purpose in life since the death of his own chosen mate and an accident resulting in his blindness. Cassidy is a half werewolf who has been raised by humans on a ranch in New Mexico. Determined to learn more of her mother's people, the werewolves, she travels to England. When Braden learns of Cassidy's lineage he believes her place in The Cause is as the bride of his brother, Quentin. Unfortunately Braden's own attraction to Cassidy doesn't fit into his plans for her in The Cause. I enjoyed this book very much. It was very engrossing and I had no trouble reading the entire story in two days. Although the storyline follows along a very familiar path with the hero denying his feelings for the heroine and so on it didn't feel redundant. I was pleased that the heroine, Cassidy, stayed true to herself and her beliefs throughout the story. I am looking forward to Susan Krinard's two other books in this trilogy involving Braden's younger siblings, the twin brother and sister, Quentin and Rowena. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
